The Ramsey Society of Nashotah House
"Nashotah has given the Church in America some of the finest scholars and teachers in the Episcopal Church, and at the present time is sending out priests who know the deep things of Christian orthodoxy and at the same time are sensitive to the contemporary world and its needs." +A.M. Ramsey, 1967 |
Named for the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Reverend Arthur Michael Ramsey, who taught at Nashotah House in his retirement, the Ramsey Society joins men and women to the community of Nashotah House in a fellowship of prayer, spiritual formation, and financial support. The Ramsey Society fuses the life of the House and its on-campus community with those who seek not only to preserve but to positively extend and enrich the catholic witness in the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion.
The Ramsey Society is the fellowship of Associates of Nashotah House—men and women who embrace the mission of the House and the catholic tradition it preserves for the Church, and who want to invest themselves, and enfold themselves, in the life of its community.
The Ramsey Society is a fellowship of giving—in which Associates commit themselves to the financial, moral and spiritual support of the House, and are in turn adopted into the life of the House in daily prayer, occasional retreats and other opportunities to imbibe of the spiritual formation for which the House is famed.
The Ramsey Society is a fellowship of prayer—in which Associates commit themselves to praying for the students, faculty and staff of the House, and are in turn prayed for by the community at every daily Eucharist.
The Ramsey Society is a fellowship of spiritual formation—in which Associates are introduced to and nourished by the same Benedictine spirituality and Rule of Life that has distinguished Nashotah House for 165 years. Associates are invited to take part in retreats, meditations, tours and other activities hosted by the House, or led elsewhere by members of the House’s faculty and staff.
